Pedagogical Manifesto

  • The Adriano Olivetti Leadership Institute (OLI) promotes the practice of leadership at all levels as a means of facilitating adaptation processes within communities. Our work is inspired by the values that guided Adriano Olivetti’s vision, to whom the Institute is dedicated: humanism, social responsibility, cross-disciplinarity, and innovation.

Practice

We see leadership as a practice independent of roles and personal characteristics.

Learning

We believe that leadership can be learned and exercised by everyone.

Trasformation

We believe in the transformative and empowering potential of practicing leadership.

Evolution

We encourage openness to the new and the emerging, and the ability to navigate the losses that come with them.

Dialogue

We promote education in critical thinking, dissent, and democratic practice.

Reflection

We promote reflection on one’s own experiences, interpretations, vulnerabilities, and hopes.

Community

We facilitate the creation of communities of practice where participation and collaboration in diversity are actively cultivated.

Experientiality

We favor horizontal teaching methods that cultivate a leadership stance in the “here and now.”

Responsibility

We encourage awareness of the ethical, social, and environmental impact of one’s decisions.
