Renewing charism in the Non-Profit Sector

“A methodology that enabled the transfer of content through an interactive approach; both in plenary sessions and in working groups, concrete and recognizable adaptive challenges related to the Association’s activity were brought to light.”

Client

Associazione La Nostra Famiglia, an organization with a vast network of rehabilitation centers, operating in six Italian regions. It cares for children and adolescents with severe pathological conditions (such as vegetative states and multiple disabilities), as well as those facing milder issues, psychological risk, or social disadvantage.

Need

The Italian healthcare system is facing complex challenges, including shortages of human, financial, and structural resources. These difficulties create an atmosphere of uncertainty that affects the ability to safeguard citizens’ health. To address these challenges, La Nostra Famiglia recognized the need for holistic training that goes beyond technical preparation. The goal was to foster greater responsibility among staff and to enhance human resources by ensuring both professional and values-based preparation.

Intervention

OLI partnered with the Association to build a “leadership culture” starting from senior and middle management roles.

Main objectives:

 • Spread a concept of leadership capable of inspiring transformative practices.

 • Promote working models that encourage mobilization, participation, and engagement.

 • Develop an approach rooted in interprofessional and interpersonal collaboration.

Method

Through interactive sessions, plenaries, and small group work, participants were guided to reflect on concrete adaptive challenges and their own leadership roles, with a focus on integrated professional and personal competencies.

Results

The promotion of a widespread leadership culture within the organization led to significant impacts:

 • Greater alignment with the organization’s mission.

 • Increased sense of belonging and long-term motivation.

 • Creation of a collaborative and cohesive environment among staff and between central and satellite offices.

 • Over 80% satisfaction rate.
